SPECIFICS.
- This award
will be known as the "Galloping Gavel Award".
- One point
is awarded for each chapter member officially registered and present
at Conclave.
- Total
number present will be multiplied by the mileage traveled to
Conclave at the rate of one point for each complete fifty miles the
chapter has traveled.

Example:
20 members present who
traveled 100 miles.
Total of 30 members on chapter's roll.
Computation: 20 members x 2 points = 40 members
40 members divided by 30 members on roll equals 133%

- The DeMolay
International Membership Status Report dated December 31 of the year
prior to the Conclave on will be used as the source for determining
the number of members on the roll, less those in military or living
more than 25 miles from the Chapter room.
- The
Galloping Gavel may be claimed from the chapter having possession at
any time a visiting chapter has a greater percentage of its members
present than the chapter it visits. The number on the roll will be
derived from the same source as in item D above.
- The State
Executive Secretary will compute the percentage attendance for each
chapter using the registration and attendance records supplied by
the host region registrar, predetermined mileage factors, and the
validated or corrected membership report from the previous year.
