Prince William Chapter 2006 Majority Service Champions

Brotherhood Weekend, January 21, 2006 - On Saturday, January 21, 2006 Virginia DeMolay kicked off our Brotherhood Weekend ritual competitions at 9:00 AM in the Richmond Scottish Rite Temple. Virginia DeMolay’s competitions committee is proud to congratulate the officers and members of Prince William Chapter, who won the Majority Service competition; and Roanoke Valley Chapter, who won the Chapter Proficiency Competition. These chapters worked extremely hard to win these trophies, as was evident by their outstanding ritual performances.

Virginia DeMolay also presented two other awards this weekend. At the evening banquet, the competitions committee presented Alexandria-Washington chapter the 2005 VA DeMolay Membership Award. According to DeMolay International, AW chapter grew by almost 10% during 2005, more than any other chapter in Virginia. We hope the members of AW chapter will keep up the good work during 2006, as we are sure they face stiff competition.

Also during the evening banquet, past recipients of Virginia DeMolay’s Brotherhood Award announced the 2006 recipient of that award: Brother Kevin Lane of Tidewater Chapter.  This is a very prestigious award, and we congratulate Brother Lane for his selection to receive this great honor.

These competitions would not be possible without the help we continue to receive from our staff of ritual judges. The competitions committee sincerely thanks the following individuals who volunteered their time and expertise to act as evaluators for the ritual competitions this weekend: Dads Ron Heald, Chris Pendleton, John Stallings and Mike Morehouse; and Brother Nate Stallings.

Our next ritual competitions will take place at Virginia DeMolay’s Spring Quarterly Meeting and Grand Master’s Class in Luray, VA on Saturday, June 3, 2006. At that time we will hold competition in the Ceremony of Light, Flower Talk, Recognition Pin Presentation Ceremony, and Magnificent Seven.
